SBA Requests Proposals for Tech Services

The Small Business Administration is seeking as many as three small businesses to provide a wide range of information technology support.
The agency requested proposals earlier this month for Engineering and Information Technology Support Services, its multiple-award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. The contract has a ceiling of $40 million and a period of performance of up to five years. The entire contract is set aside for small businesses.
The contractors that win the follow-on work will provide SBA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer with a variety of technical professional services. The specific areas SBA expects the winners to address, and the areas that are likely to be task-order scopes, are:
  • Cloud and infrastructure architecture, engineering, cybersecurity architecture and engineering, mobility engineering and operational support services.
  • Enterprise data management and business intelligence architecture, engineering and operational services.
  • Technology solutions evaluation, planning, and execution and enterprise architecture support services
  • Recommendations to OCIO on how to improve its strategic plan and assist OCIO with program management

If three contractors win slots on the contract, each of their contract ceilings would be $13.3 million, but if fewer small businesses are chosen, the ceiling would remain at $40 million. Proposals are due by the end of July. SBA hasn’t provided an expected award date, but it’s likely to be a quick turnaround since the agency plans to start the project in fiscal 2018.
